Eric Freeberg's classic illustration style is influenced by artists of the Golden Age of American Illustration, including N.C. Wyeth. Howard Pyle, and Maxfield Parrish. He studied painting at the New York Academy of Art, and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Among the nearly 20 books Eric has illustrated for children are "Grimms Fairy Tales," "Greek Myths," "The Odyssey," "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and "Moby Dick" for Sterling Publishing.
For Compass Publishing, titles include "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "White Fang," and most recently"The Spelling Bee," among others.
In addition to books, Eric has contributed art to children's magazines. "Nelly's Sweet Song," a short story about George Washington's granddaughter, will be in the November/December issue of Spider Magazine this fall. Eric has also illustrated "Samuel Peppard and his Windwagon" for Spider magazine.
Eric has exhibited at the Society of Illustrators in New York.
He is a PAL member of SCBWI and is represented by Wendy Lynn & Co.

Eric was a winner of the 2010 London Book Fair's Children's Illustration Competition. He was awarded the Holbein Prize for Fantasy Art in the 2010 International Illustration Competition, Japan Illustrators Association. And in 2007, Eric was chosen as Honorable Mention in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Don Freeman Award, an international children's book portfolio competition.

School Visit Info-
As the illustrator of nearly 20 books for children, Eric will come to your school to talk about how he creates the paintings for his books. His PowerePoint show will take about 45 minutes to an hour, taking the viewers on a visual tour of his picture-making process, showing you artwork from some of his many books, and providing a peek behind the scenes into his studio.
Eric will need a screen and projector and a reasonably dark room. Audience size can be from 25 to 100. The ideal audience for his talks are grade 2-6 but he can tailor his talks to any age.

Fees-
The cost of visits vary depending on travel expense and number of talks in a day.
