Katherine brings creative observational skills with her fun and interactive presentations.
She is an illustrator and author of five non-fiction picture books, and teaches children how to:
- Keep a nature journal
- Sketch outdoors, and
- How a picture books is created
Her program can be adjusted to fit your needs.
- Outdoor Classroom - Creating a nature journal, learning to see then draw.
- Indoor Classroom - Creating a story with adjectives and nouns, interacting with students to create drawings.
- How a picture book is created, from the idea, to rough sketches to adding the words.

Typical Presentation:
Introduction of self, slide show/power point of her art. Depending on the grade I can read a book or an excerpt, show revisions...Kids LOVE to learn about the journey to publication.
Grades 1-12
Including:
- Working with teachers on special projects
- Creating a Nature Journal
- Team program with biologists, writers, artists and young people

What you need to provide:
- A room that can be darkened, and a screen or white wall
- Chalk board or white board
Costs:
- $600 for the entire day (up to 4 presentations)
- $150.00 for one presentation
- Half day: hands on workshop $400
- Costs for presentations outside Vermont include travel expenses
