About Us

Hi, I'm Mark McKenna. I'm an established comic book illustrator. I have been illustrating comics for more then 24 years for both Marvel and DC Comics. I have worked on X-Men, Spider Man, The Hulk, Wolverine, Wonder Woman, and most recently Batman, over 425 books and 7000 pages in all.

In October of 2002 I ventured into the world of self-publishing with Banana-Tail in order to diversify from my career as a comic book professional. Put the world of Spider Man, Batman, and Wolverine together with the personalities of Banana-Tail, Tic Tac and Reena, and I guarantee to have the children fascinated by the session I have put together. I am currently accepting and offering a presentation/lecture/session to schools and libraries based on my combined expertise and knowledge of both the comic book world, and the development and self publishing venture of my children's book, Banana-Tail.

I have developed a 30 to 45 minute program that can be more or less "involved" based on the age group I am presenting to. My fees range from $300 to $450 (traveling expenses not included), depending on whether I'm presenting a simple classroom or library lecture or a more involved and lengthy auditorium presentation. I prefer to work with groups of less then 30 children (doing them in succession, if needed), as there is more warmth and interaction in a smaller group. If you'd like to read about past presentations, you can click here to see a newspaper article that was written on recent local visit I had at the Florida Public Library.

I'm happy to travel by car to any location within New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Massachusetts, and I'm more than willing to discuss lengthier journeys as well. Below you'll find a short list of my presentations and convention showings.

I hope to hear from you!
